Abstract

This study analyses the evaluation of sustainability principles in the operations of Mimpi Resort Menjangan, a four-star eco-oriented resort located adjacent to West Bali National Park. The research is grounded in the concepts of sustainable tourism, green hotel, and the triple bottom line (people, planet, profit), which together provide a holistic framework for assessing environmental, social, and economic performance. Using a descriptive quantitative approach complemented by qualitative data, the study collects primary data through observation, semi-structured interviews, and a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 30 employees across nine operational departments, supported by secondary data from internal documents. The findings show a total score of 3,254 with an average achievement of 89.89%, indicating that the implementation of sustainability principles at Mimpi Resort Menjangan is in the “very good” category. Management policy and commitment, green operational practices, employee involvement, guest engagement, and collaboration with local communities are generally implemented consistently and structurally supported by formal regulations and a dedicated Green Team. Remaining obstacles are mainly technical and behavioral, pointing to the need for continuous improvement rather than a lack of organizational commitment. Overall, Mimpi Resort Menjangan demonstrates a successful application of green hotel practices and can be considered a best-practice model for sustainable hotel operations in Indonesia.
