The research uses a mixed-method approach including questionnaires, field observation, and in-depth interviews with key informants. The goal is to understand how traditional values influence the environmental elements of sustainable tourism in the region. The findings indicate that traditional buildings contribute to the well-being of tourists ( Ginting 2020). Furthermore, the diverse cultural activities in the region need an appropriate strategy to support and enhance the elements of sustainable tourism.
