Abstract

In the development of tourism in an area must pay attention to the uniqueness of its tourist attraction. In addition, the involvement of tourism stakeholders in tourism development is very important in determining the intended direction of development in accordance with the tourism potential owned. The purpose of this study is to determine tourism potential, stakeholder involvement and tourism development strategies in Gumuk Kantong Beach. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach and was analyzed using SWOT analysis. Data were collected using observation techniques, interviews and documentation studies. The informants interviewed included the Culture and Tourism Office of Banyuwangi Regency, village heads and village officials, entrepreneurs, community leaders, tourists and the people of Sumbersewu Village. The results of the study are through the analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats with the help of a SWOT matrix found the right development strategy. Gumuk Katong Beach as a community-based tourist attraction in Muncar is a strategy that utilizes the direction of environmentally friendly development by maintaining cleanliness and maintaining the surrounding naturalness to remain sustainable. Suggestions for further research put more emphasis on tourism management and marketing strategies.
